We do trips all over Mexico–and Copper canyon Train Trips are very popular with us. here is some info:
Copper Canyon Culture:
Our vision is that each one of our guests will have an enriching experience in this grand place called “Barrancas del Cobre” or Copper Canyon. We arrange things so that people can be fully immersed in the culture- the history, the environment, the people, the food, and of course the incredible railway, CHEPE. The Copper Canyon train winds some 400 miles through the hinterlands of the Sierra Madres and we typically travel the heart of the train line to give our guests a full experience on the train. Its comfortable, fascinating and perfect for “true travelers”.
We Take the Simple Approach:
We take the simple approach to traveling the Copper Canyon train…just go there, walk the streets, meet the people, see the vast scenery. Our excursions include a full dose of the train (called CHEPE). Most tour companies minimize train time. This saves them money and allows for less days- its a way to increase profit. Quite to the contrary, we try to maximize train time and arrange the days so that the cool, grandiose parts of the train line can be seen in good light. Our itineraries are flex and we adjust to fit with what people want to fully experience in Copper Canyon.
Also—some info on the internet says it is best to travel one way or the other on the train. Most of this info is based on what is best for Mexico tour companies or some other financial deal. Reality is both ways work well and we can make it fit best with your travel plans and starting/ending point–including Baja if you want!
We get you there:
Maybe it is the sunrise over Copper Canyon. Or a local festival or party. Or a meal in a local hacienda or out of the way restaurant- where they cook on a wood stove and there is not a speck of English. You will see the Copper Canyon and the Copper Canyon train world from a new perspective and be fully immersed in the vibrant culture, the down home refreshing hospitality, the simple, picand cuisine of old Chihuahua and the enchanting Sierra Madres. Now we are taking the same “sightskipping” approach to these trips to new locations in Puebla, Oaxaca, Merida, Mexico City, the monarch butterfly areas, Baja, the wine country of Guadalupe Valley, and Chiapas.
