Four Distinctives of our Copper Canyon Trips

There are some distinctives with Authentic Copper Canyon trips that make what we do not only special, memorable, and fun, but also a deep immersion into the culture of Copper Canyon.

We live these distinctives and it is why we lead the pack in providers to Copper Canyon:

1. Our Values.

All we do will be authentic. It will be local, true to the culture and in connection with the people. All we do will be excellent. Dave and his team have studied and experienced the area extensively and have selected the best of hotels, lodges, eateries, etc. All we do will be a collaboration with Mexican and Raramuri. Our guides are simply showing you their homeland. And they are passionate travelers themselves. They are part professor, part personal concierge. And always, they are there to solve any issue.

Example: You will not be lectured, your guide will be more of a companion and will always be an insider in the communities you visit. You will come home with friendships.

2. We take your Copper Canyon trip personally.

We don’t do cookie-cutter tours. We listen to your interests and schedule and do all we can to meet your expectations. Then, we like spontaneity….and there is lots of opportunity for that in Copper Canyon. We even have a culinary trip, a running trip, and a “sotol” trip.
Travelers love this approach- the complete antithesis of a “big bus” trip.
Example: We recently diverted one of our trips so that they experienced a first for any travel excursion there—the new “road” from Batopilas to Urique. What a memory.

3. Ours is not simply a tour.

We say that our Copper Canyon Train Trips are really for “travelers” and that “tourists” are probably happier with a cut-rate bus tour. Our excursions go beyond the normal sites, skip the touristy dives, and give you the inside scoop on Copper Canyon. Beyond this, we insist that our guides never lose their passion for discovery and the majesty of this great place and its train.
Example: I saw an itinerary for a Copper Canyon trip yesterday that did not even include the heart of the train ride. Companies do this out of ignorance or to save money. We commit to always giving each guest a real immersion into the wonders of this grand destination.

Some 86 bridges link the line together as it crosses the gorges of the Sierra Madres. If you book a trip with someone and they don't include the heart of the train from Arepo to Temoris, sue em!

4. We champion integrity and excellence.

There will be no hidden charges. We usually deliver much more than promised- I tell our guys, “Deliver more than is on the itinerary!” We are a team and the standard is high for those who will introduce you to the wonders of Copper Canyon.
Example: Often in the Arepo/Divisadero area we have two guides available even when the group is as small at 4-6 people.

These are distinctives we hold. Your Copper Canyon trip will not be simply a sight-seeing excursion. It will be an immersion into the culture of the Sierras and a connection to its people.
