Dave Hensleigh…

Your trip host and guide is Dave Hensleigh. Dave’s passion for Copper Canyon runs deep, and his enthusiasm for and knowledge of the area will enrich your experience there. Dave’s graduate work was in Biology and he has spent much of his life exploring and guiding in the Rockies and Sierras. He loves to garden and cook- especially the cuisine of the Sierra Madres. Dave has assembled a team of expert local Mexican guides and providers who will help him serve you on your journey. Groups are always kept small and this team of local guides makes for a truly personalized and informed Copper Canyon experience.

Walk Across Juarez
Getting my sandals washed up- fun at every corner.Juarez will always have a corner of my heart and soul- thank you so much!A gift from our Ramada Inn host Lorenzo- oh my this is good mescal!
I cross the bridge and am welcomed- and the welcoming continues for three days. The streets of Juarez were packed- thriving.I had all kinds of Mex press but absolutly none from El Paso.

Chihuahua City Option

We now have the option flying directly to Chihuahua City to begin our trips. Direct flights from Dallas (American) and Houston (Continental) go daily. This gives us an extra day in country and avoids the drives on day one and day eight. Call Dave today at 217.369.9897 for details.

Got Questions?

Click here to ask a question or get more info. One common question people have is if this is a hiking/sleep on the ground trip. Answer: No. We stay each night in small cabanas or hotels, all of which are very clean and include hot water and linens. There is always the opportunity for a good walk, but ground transport is always available.

Answer to the question everyone asks…

Yes the Copper Canyon area is safe. Virtually all of the violence is at the border. There have been zero incidents with tourists in the Copper Canyon area. We stay far away from effected areas and have every confidence that your trip will be safe...and very enjoyable!
