Pottery Tours to Mata Ortiz

This little town of Mata Ortiz is home to some 400 potters who work and sell primarily out of their homes. This is part of the draw of this place- the main draw being the incredible pottery.

The homes are mosstly very modest if not outright basic and impoverished.

Mrs. Villalba in her home...the Villalba family pottery is incredible.

We call our trip to this area “The Sotol Circle” after the very special drink unique to Chihuahua , produced in this area.
