The Highest bridge on the Copper Canyon Train

THE HIGH BRIDGE ON THE COPPER CANYON TRAIN

On each of our Copper Canyon tours, I try to include as much of the train experience as possible. Tunnels come one after the other. Bridges sweep around corners and soar above rivers. None better than “Bridge Chinipas” in the video above.

Bridge Chinipas…it is truly amazing. At 1018.5 feet  long,  this is the highest bridge on the line, 340 feet above the river and the second longest.  To the left of the bridge, the Rio Septentrion joins the Rio Chinipas to form the Rio Fuerte…..huge view! One note for those traveling there: watch for derailed cars on the left as the bridge ends.

For those who are attentive, there are actually quite a number of derailed cars that can be seen along the route.
