Our Copper Canyon trips are more and more designed to include not just the Copper Canyon train but also the peaceful towns and beaches of Baja. This way people can experience not only the best of Copper Canyon tours, but also the charm and peaceful environment of the small towns of Baja.
So what are our reasons for including Baja with Copper Canyon? Well there is the practical matter of the convenience and economy of flying into El Paso (ELP), experiencing all that Casas Grandes and Copper Canyon and El Fuerte has to offer- then flying back from the Cabo airport (SJD). This plan makes the flights inexpensive and gives and allows us to travel the heart of the railway.
But the more compelling reason is that this itinerary (see below) lets each person on our small group excursion take in all that Copper Canyon and the great CHEPE train have to offer. Then over in Baja our guests can take 1-5 days to snorkel, lay on the beach, walk the streets of Todos Santos and take in the art scene or just whatever they want in the laid back Baja environment.
Here is a sample itinerary for a Copper Canyo tour with Baja:
Day 1- Arrive El Paso and travel to Casas Grandes- Paquime ruins, Mata Ortiz pottery, d great food.
Day 2- Van through the ranch country to Creel. Evening at the lovely Sierra Lodge
